UPDATE @ 11:00 a.m.:
The Fire Chief in Quinte West says there was no need to worry about a minor gas leak at a big box store in the city this morning.
John Whelan also praised the quick actions of workers at Canadian Tire, after his crews were called there around 10:30 this morning.
Whelan says firefighters were also sent to the Quinte West Wal Mart late this morning, after a sprinkler head was damaged and started to spray water.
He says that incident was under control quickly as well and there were no injuries reported in either case.

The Canadian Tire store in Trenton has been evacuated.
Digging equipment hit a natural gas line after 9 this morning.
There were no flames, and Quinte West firefighters arrived quickly.
The gas line’s valve has been shut down and repairs are being made.
There were no injuries.
Life should return to normal at Trenton’s Canadian Tire soon.
