Belleville’s Sidney Street corridor should see some improvements in 2016.
The long-term rehabilitation of Sidney Street includes the eventual widening to four lanes along with the widening of the highway 401 bridge to four lanes.
Project manager Deanna O’Leary says $1.6 million has been earmarked for some preliminary construction in 2016.
Construction this year would include a new left turn lane for north bound vehicles, but O’Leary says this depends on property and utility relocations before that can go ahead.
Meanwhile $300,000 have been approved for an assessment and design at Sidney and Tracey Street.
