Residents south of Napanee aren’t happy about a proposed biogas project in their neighbourhood.
The idea is to create a renewable energy source on the South Fredericksburgh waste disposal site, which would be powered by a byproduct collected from the decomposition of organics in the dump.
Trow Associates is planning the project, which would generate 100-thousand dollars for Greater Napanee. However, residents who live near the site told an open house they’re concerned about noise, odour and harm to the surrounding area. A decision on the biogas project is expected early next year.
