A five per cent jump in the number of people in Belleville and Quinte West getting employment insurance.
Statistics Canada says 2,250 local residents got assistance in February, the last month information is available for. That is up by 110 from January.
The figure is also a lot higher than in February, last year, when 1,760 people in Belleville and Quinte West were on E-I.
