A 34-year-old man who stole mail while a rural postal delivery employee of Canada Post in Prince Edward County has been sentenced to three months in jail.
David Lindle of Picton was charged by the O-P-P in mid-December with possession of property obtained by crime, theft of mail and breach of undertaking after more than 360 pieces of mail belonging to 200 victims were recovered. He had been stealing residents’ mail for an unknown period of time..
Lindle, who had spent 111 days in pre-trial custody, pled guilty to the theft and breach charges and a new charge of mischief in Picton Provincial Court on Wednesday. The possession charge was dismissed.
