A Trenton man was sentenced to life behind bars in connection with the murder of a local woman nearly three years ago. 42-year old Robert Brickman pleaded guilty to second degree murder, in Superior Court today, in connection with the death of Sara Martin on Mount Pelion in Trenton in July of 2007. Brickman, who has a history of mental illness, wasn’t on his medication when he grabbed a knife out of his car and stabbed Martin in the neck. She was the subject of a missing person’s report when children playing tag on the hill discovered her body. The 22-year old Martin worked on the same shift as Brickman at the Teletech Call Center. Sara’s father Terry Martin, during victim impact statements, called Brickman garbage…adding Brickman’s the worst kind of person and hopes he suffers a slow death. Brickman was sentenced to penitentiary for life with no parole elgibility for 14-years.
