The Algonquin-Lakeshore Catholic School Board has decided not to change its kindergarten schedule to match that of the Hastings-Prince Edward Board.
The Public Board switched this school year from a Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday and alternate Fridays schedule to a rolling A/B schedule, meaning a child is in school one day and not the next.
Catholic Board Director of Education Michael Schmitt says the Committee of the Whole voted last night not to make any adjustment, so students will continue attending Mondays, Wednesday and alternate Frdays, and Tuesdays, Thursday and alternate Fridays. Some day-care providers in Kingston had written trustees, concerned about the possible change in the kindergarten schedule.
