Two people have been arrested during a check by Belleville Police on the wellbeing of children in a home in the city’s east-end.
Officers arriving at the house last evening found a man at the house who wasn’t supposed to be with children without specific supervision.. The 27-year-old female resident then tried to stop police from entering one room, grabbed an officer and attempted to pull him away, and the 29-year-old man shoved police against a wall.. Both suspects are charged with assaulting police, obstructing police, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance. No names were released to protect the children’s identity.
