Another big jump in the unemployment rate in Hastings-Prince Edward and other parts of Eastern Ontario.
Statistics Canada says the figure hit 9.6 per cent last month in the local region and in Lennox and Addington, Frontenac and Renfrew Counties. It was nine per cent in February, and 8.4 per cent in March, 2009.
Just over 20-thousand people were listed as unemployed in March, up by one-thousand from the previous month.
