The federal government is investing in the manufacturing sector in the Quinte, Peterborough, Northumberland and Lindsay areas.
Peterborough M-P Dean Del Mastro announced 1.55-million dollars, to be used for the 3.1-million-dollar Tri-Association Manufacturers Initiative. That is a new program administered by the Greater Peterborough Area Economic Development Corporation in cooperation with economic development agencies in Kawartha Lakes, Quinte and Northumberland. The initiative is expected to help more than 40 companies, result in more than one-thousand employees training occurences, and create 300 jobs across the four regions.
