A 17-year-old Scarborough boy has been arrested in connection with an assault that resulted in a lockdown at the high school in Picton.
Prince Edward O-P-P responded yesterday afternoon after two students were assaulted by another person, who fled in a vehicle. Northumberland O-P-P stopped the vehicle on Wooler Road and arrested a suspect. An unidentified weapon was also seized.
The 17-year-old was charged with assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon, and will appear in Picton Court in May. The lockdown at Prince Edwrd Collegiate Institute was lifted after one hour.
