A child kicked in the head by a horse near Tucker’s Corners is recovering well at an Ottawa Hospital…
His grandfather, Gerald Suurdt of Stirling, says two-and-a-half-year-old Adrian Bouma was playing at his parents’ farm on Vermilyea Road on Friday when the mare kicked him, causing a fractured skull.
Adrian was airlifted from the Belleville Hospital to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, and underwent surgery on Friday night. Suurdt says there was no damage to the brain membrane, and the boy was doing much better yesterday. The horse will be sold tomorrow.
