One lane has been re-opened on Highway 62 at Old Hastings Road.
Sometime overnight, parts of the highway south of Maynooth were washed away forcing closure on both sides of the road.
Beavers are thought to be the culprits.
It is suspected nearby beaver dams broke causing large amounts of water run across the highway.
MTO and TWD Roads Management are on the scene addressing the damage.
