It cost Prince Edward County residents more to pay their municipal council last year than council members in Belleville received.
The total in the county was 297-thousand dollars in salaries and 63-thousand in expenses, for 360-thousand dollars. Mayor Leo Finnegan earned 35-thousand, and had expenses of 97-hundred. The 15 councillors were paid 17-thousand dollars each, and their combined expenses were 53-thousand. Belleville residents paid about 280-thousand dollars for their council last year, 80-thousand less than municipal politicians received in Prince Edward.
