A Picton man who stole almost 33-dollars worth of meat from a Kingston grocery store has been ordered to perform 100 hours of community service.
Forty-four-year-old Scott McConnell’s sentencing was suspended after he was convicted in Kingston court, and besides the community hours, he was placed on probation for 12 months.. McConnell told the judge he went to Kingston last December to socialize with some friends, who stranded him after they met some local women. He had no way to get back to Picton, got hungry and stole food from a Metro store.
