The Quinte area has been making national news over the past several weeks for all the wrong reasons. and, Belleville Councillor Ege Boyce says it’s sad to read in newspapers across the country headlines referring to his community as “Murderville”. He says the community is very tight knit and still believes it’s a safe community adding he has 100-percent faith in the police service. Boyce say the city police will be raising their visibility and presence in the community as part of their three year strategic plan which is also encouraging to hear. There have been six murders in Quinte in the past three months.
