The department won’t be completely shut down, but you won’t see many public works crews out in Brighton for a time this summer.
Brighton Council has decided to almost completely shut down the public works department for the last week of July. A two week shut-down in July had been considered, but staff preferred just a one week mandatory holiday. However, one operator, and summer students, will continue working during the shut down.
