It may not be long before smoking around municipal property in Prince Edward County is snuffed out.
Councillor Lori Slik, the chair of the Hastings-Prince Edward Health Unit, told County Council last night recommendations on a smoking bylaw would be going to council in the near future.
It would likely be similar to bylaws in place in Belleville and Quinte West, where smoking isn’t allowed within a certain distance of entrances at municipal buildings, and isn’t permitted near sports fields.
