Another twist in the long road to a ballot question on the size of council in Prince Edward County. Last night, County Council voted 9 to 7 in favour of changing the question to be recommended at a future public meeting. Instead of the recommended question….”are you in favour of reducing the size of Prince Edward County Council??”…..the question will now be……”are you in favour of starting a public consultation on reducing the size of council??” Councillor John Thompson says the expanded question comes as a result of a lawyer’s advice. It’s not known when the public meeting will be held prior to this Fall’s municipal election.
