The new ‘home ownership” program in Hastings-Quinte will help only a fraction of the number of the 62-families assisted last year. Spokesperson Michelle Ogden says the province allocated Hastings-Quinte Social Services only 140-thousand dollars this time around… Ogden says the prcase prices sofar have been around 150-thousand dollars, which means only about nine people could be helped this time. The provincially-funded program provides up to 10-percent of the purchase price towards a down payment.
