It seems a lot of hockey fans in Quinte West either don’t know about a new smoking bylaw, or have chosen to ignore it. Quinte West Council is hearing from people who don’t appreciate having to wade through clouds of cigarette smoke in and out of the arena in Trenton ward.
City staff says the Health Unit will be taking some action. There’s a by law in Quinte West stating that smoking cannot occur within 9 metres of the entrance to a city owned building.
