There may be a change of venue request on the way in the Colonel Russ Williams trial.
Defense lawyers in Ottawa and Belleville say mass media attention and public interest in the case are just two reasons why Williams may not be able to receive a fair trial by jury.
An article in the Legal Periodical “Law Times” says details released through the media spoke about William’s “lengthy confession” to investigators.. which means many in the public have already convicted the former C-F-B Trenton Wing Commander.
Williams is being charged in the murders of 27 year old Jessica Lloyd and Corporal Marie-France Comeau of Brighton… along with two sexual assaults in Tweed.
