Tweed is calling for tenders to begin upgrading work on its recreational facilities. The 900-thousand dollar federal-sponsored project includes renovating the Tweed arena, improving the fair ground and soccer field area. The arena work alone will cost 400-thousand dollars…but the new heating system will be energy-efficient and have a payback of 35-percent over the next ten years. Larger dressing rooms and accessibility are also part of the project. Tweed CAO Patricia Bergeron says the deadline for tenders is March 18.
