Northumberland County Council will discuss the impact of fishing limits on Rice Lake at its meeting next Wednesday..
Alnwick-Haldimand Township Mayor Bill Finley says there is concern about the panfishing cutback and the potential for lost tourism revenue. The Rice Lake Tourist Association is also opposed to the sunfish limits for the same reason.
The Association President says the sunfish limits have caused anglers planning to visit resorts on the lake to cancel their plans for this summer.
