The Center Hastings Ratepayers Association believes the municipality’s meal allowance for staff and politicians is a little too juicy. Currently, Center Hastings offers 100 dollars per day for meal allowances. The ratepayers say that amount is way too high. They also object that there’s no written policy demanding receipts for meals claimed. Center Hastings Council will look at it’s expense policies as a part of an ongoing organizational review.
