A charge of second degree murder against a Frankford man has been dropped.
No reason was immediately available from the Crown Attorney’s office this morning as to why the charge against 32-year-old Ryan Ferguson was dismissed in Picton Provincial Court yesterday.
Ferguson, another man whose name is the subject of a publication ban, and a 17-year-old Rednersville boy were all charged by the O-P-P with second degree murder after 38-year-old Mark Patterson of Trenton died in hospital on January 31st. That was one day after he was found with serious injuries at a home in Rednersville.. The cause of death wasn’t released. The charge against the youth was dropped earlier this month, and replaced with a charge of accessory after the fact to murder. The unidentified man, who is still in custody, was also in Picton court yesterday, and will be back in court on March third.
