The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating an incident in which a man arrested in Hastings, northwest of Campbellford, was injured. Northumberland O-P-P responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on Homewood Avenue yesterday, and charged the driver, a 51-year-old Hastings man with impaired driving. The man complained a short time later about having a sore arm, and was taken by police to hospital in Cobourg. He was examined by staff, and he has a broken left upper arm. The S-I-U was notified and is looking at the circumstances surrounding the injury. The man’s name has not been released, and he has a bail hearing in Cobourg court today
