A second degree murder charge against a 17-year-old Rednersville boy, in connection with the death of a Trenton man, has been dismissed.
Crown Attorney Lee Burgess says the charge was dropped in Picton Court yesterday, and a new charge of being accessory after the fact to murder was laid. He said evidence determined the youth was not directly involved in the murder. The boy, who was released from custody, will be back in court on February 16th. Two men charged with second degree murder, 32-year-old Ryan Ferguson and another man, whose name is subject to a publication ban, will be back in court on the 17th. The three were arrested by Prince Edward O-P-P after Mark Patterson of Trenton died at Kingston General Hospital from injuries he sustained at a home in Rednersville on January 30th. The cause of death hasn’t yet been released.
