The search for Jessica Lloyd is over but the circumstances leading to the Belleville woman’s death are still a mystery.
The 27-year old woman’s body was found last night in the Tweed area and a massive police investigation continues into her apparent murder.
OPP are at the scene of a cottage home at 62 Cosy Cove Lane near Tweed which is owned by the CFB Trenton Base Commander Colonel Russell Williams.
Military Police are also investigating at CFB Trenton where part of the base is reportedly in lockdown.
Our newsroom has obtained documents showing the Tweed area home is owned by the base Commander and his wife. Sources say Colonel Williams wife Mary Elizabeth Harriman a co-owner of the property has been living in Ottawa renovating their home . Court documents show a D Russell Williams has a bail hearing at 1 o’clock today in Belleville Court.
Belleville police, the Ontario Provincial Police and possibly Military Police are holding a news conference today to discuss the latest developments.
The news conference is set for 1pm at the Wally Dever Arena in Belleville and will be carried live at CJBQ 800am and online at www.cjbq.com.
Lloyd was reported missing after she failed to show up for her job with the Tri-Board Student Transportation Services in Napanee.
