Still work to do before Prince Edward County Council strikes it’s budget for this year. The original proposed budget showed an increase of 8.6 percent, and after two days of special meetings this week, the draft budget is still 7.4 percent higher than last years. Yesterday, Council sent the package back to staff, asking that it be brought back next week at something under 4 percent. Prince Edward Council is wrestling with a revenue shortage. The County is losing almost one million dollars that it had received from the Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund.
