The finances at the Frankford Municipal Golf Course have been “out of bounds” the last couple of years. However, last night, Quinte West Council turned down a recommendation to have the Wedge and Bottle restaurant owners take over the operation of the golf course clubhouse. Most on Council agreed with Councillor Terry Cassidy, who wondered why there had been no public input before the recommendation was made, and no tendering process. A report on the situation at the Frankford golf course, which has been losing money, will go before Quinte West’s Public Works Committee this coming Tuesday, and a report will go back to Council. Existing clubhouse employees will have a chance to put forward their ideas to return to profitability.
