Another Ontario Municipal Board hearing may be in the works for the city of Belleville. This one involves a piece of land in the east end, just north of the Stanley Park subdivision. The owner, First Pentecostal Church, is objecting to a ruling earlier this month by City Council. Council followed the advice of the city Planning Committee, and refused to rezone the site to allow larger sized buildings adjacent to the subdivision. Officials say negotiations are now underway with the residents, trying for a compromise. Earlier this month the owner of the former Doc’s Palace filed an appeal to the OMB, objecting to the city’s decision to deny a strip club on the site.
