Hastings County is “optimistic” it can reach a new contract with nearly 200-of its employees, avoiding any strike action. Administrator Jim Pine told our newsroom another conciliation meeting on Friday could be the answer. He also says more conciliation days could be added. If no agreement is reached and a “no board” report is issued, it would be another 16-days before action could be taken by either party. The workers are represented by OPSEU local 4-96.
