A former Quinte Hawk and N-H-L player convicted of conspiracy to commit murder in 2004 could suit up to play for a Halifax university’s hockey team this season.
Mike Danton is in the process of enrolling at Saint Mary’s University. Danton served five-and-a-half years in prison before being granted parole this fall.
University officials have confirmed the 29-year-old contacted the coach of the Huskies last week, and the school says he has met eligibility requirements to enrol. Danton was a member of the Quinte Hawks, based in Deseronto, in 1996-97.
