A man has been charged with trying to avoid a RIDE program near Campbellford.
Northumberland O-P-P pulled over a vehicle at an unspecified location last night, but the driver sped off while the officer was speaking to him..
The vehicle was pursued until it slid into a snow bank. The driver then backed into the police vehicle causing minor damage. The driver, already prohibited from driving for similar infractions, was arrested, and taken into custody. The Roseneath man was held in custody, to appear in court later today.
