The 16-year-old Warkworth boy charged with murdering Michelle Barnoski has been accused of lying about her death to cover it up.
A Northumberland News report says Crown Attorney Dave Thompson suggested in Peterborough Court yesterday a motive for the murder was Barnoski’s concerns about the boy’s relationship with his girlfriend at the time, and the murder was planned in advance.
The boy, who along with co-accused Marc Vickers, is charged with first degree murder, said last week Vickers had shot the woman and threatened to kill him or blame him for the crime if he didn’t help conceal it..
The defence has closed its case, and the jury is expected to hear closing arguments tomorrow.
