Although they might be “flogging a dead horse”, because the province has the final say on new energy projects, Prince Edward County Council will ask for more information on the new Green Energy Act.
Last night, with tractors, spreaders, and ploughs in the parking lot at Shire Hall, and 20 farmers looking on, Prince Edward Council deferred a plea to have a “made in Prince Edward County” site plan for windmills. Councillor Sandi Latchford made the motion to defer so they could have an information meeting with the province.
Prince Edward County Farmer, Lloyd Crowe, representing landowners in favour of wind turbines, didn’t see any problem with Council getting more information on the Green Energy Act.
MPP Leona Dombrowsky has agreed to organize an information session.
