Prince Edward Council has agreed to fast track a planning area update and planning approvals for a proposed large development in the north of Wellington. Last night Council agreed that an updated secondary plan be looked at at about the same time as various planning hurdles come to council on a 400 unit housing development surrounding a golf course. An update secondary plan for Wellington is needed because the current one is decades old, and wouldn’t allow such a development. The update and planning approvals will be dealt with by Council in May of next year.
