Three months of talks with a conciliator have so far failed to produce a new contract for full-time faculty at Loyalist and Ontario’s 23 other community colleges..
The head of the colleges’ bargaining team, Rachael Donovan, says the lack of progress is very frustrating for students and faculty.
She says both groups need certainty and “should not be burdened with the threat of a labour disruption.”
Wages and workload are key issues in the talks, which have seen the two sides meet 25 times since early June. Both sides meet again next Tuesday.
