A Belleville City Police cruiser was struck by a vehicle whose driver didn’t want to stop.
An officer on patrol noticed a car travelling at a high rate of speed early Saturday morning on North Front Street, and it pulled into a hotel parking lot.
The driver then threw the vehicle into reverse, and hit the front end of the cruiser, even though the officer sounded the horn.
A 39-year-old Newmarket man was charged with driving with more than the legal amount of alcohol in his blood.
