Meetings and statements in the press from the Mayor of Quinte West have raised the hackles of the Northumberland-Quinte West M-P-P. Lou Rinaldi is taking exception to newspaper articles describing Mayor John Williams’ meetings with Conservative leader Tim Hudak regarding problems with the Quinte Health Care. Rinaldi finds if more then odd that Williams would turn to a man who was part of the government that cut health care spending and created Quinte Healthcare. Rinaldi also heartily disagrees with Mayor Williams assertion that local concerns are being ignored. Rinaldi says he’s set up meetings for local Mayors with the Health Minister…and a dialogue with the QHC is ongoing. Mayor Williams was a progressive conservative candidate in 2003, but liberal MPP Rinaldi says he hopes “base” politics isn’t behind these latest articles.
