A Belleville businessman, trying to recover 14 rings stolen from a former Canadian boxer, isn’t having much success.
Kevin Putnam of Quinte Roofing and General Contracting expected he’d get a response within one or two weeks when he announced a five-thousand dollar reward in late September.
The money is for information leading to the recovery of the championship and personal rings, taken in a breakin at Shawn O’Sullivan’s Coleman Street apartment in May, 2007.
However, no one has called a special cell phone number, 613-243-3995, agreeing to turn the rings over to a jeweller for the reward, with no questions asked. Putnam, a personal friend of O’Sullivan, says he will keep the phone in case someone calls, but admits he’s getting frustrated.
