The Limestone School board has approved the construction of a new school in Napanee, and the closure of three other schools.
Trustees voted last night to construct the new school, accomodating about 600 elementary students, in the south end of Napanee.
Westdale and H-H Langford schools, which have been deemed prohibitive to repair, would be closed when the new building is ready.
The board also voted to transfer most of the students from Sandhurst Public School, also prohibitive to repair, to Bath Public School, and close Sandhurst, with some students going to other schools if Bath is too far away.
