Prince Edward County Council will debate the big housing and golf course development planned for Wellington this evening. There’s a motion before Council allowing passage of an amendment to the County Official Plan so the project could move ahead. Country Club Estates proposes a community on Belleville Street in Wellington involving no more then 400 housing units, including houses, townhouses, and apartments, and a golf course. At a recent Planning Committee meeting, there was an 8 to 7 vote to approve changing the land’s zoning. Prince Edward County Council meets at Shire Hall in Picton at 7:30 tonight.
