Belleville Mayor Neil Ellis is feeling optimistic about a new youth committee. City Council created a youth advisory committee almost three years ago, but it was never officially enacted. Ellis met recently with chamber of commerce and youth organization officials, and says they agreed there is definitely a need for such a group. He says they will meet again this week, and he expects more progress to be made. The original committee was set up with the intention of giving local young people the opportunity to express their opinions on what Belleville needs.
