They’re supposed to be man’s best friend but not in this incident in Belleville’s west-end. City Police were called after an argument between a man and woman got out of control, at 9 o’clock last night, and the dog became protective of the woman. The man began choking the dog and a physical altercation resulted. The man is charged with domestic assault and cruelty to animals and will appear in court next month.
