While E Health Ontario continues to make headlines for controversial spending and expense claims, it’s work is making a difference here in the Quinte area. In a newsletter, the Southeast Local Health Integration Network says that E Health’s efforts have ultimately led to faster service and less cost for Quinte Healthcare Corporation, and the Prince Edward County Family Health Team. The Health Team and local hospitals now share patients medical records electronically, and on demand, and they’re updated quickly. It’s saved a lot of trees, as paperwork is down by 50 percent between QHC and the 23 doctors on the Prince Edward Family Health Team.
