Bringing hi-speed internet service to eastern Ontario…and the Hastings-Quinte area …is another step closer to reality. The multi-million dollar plan to bring faster and more internet service to the area, funded by senior governments, will be phased in. Hastings County administrator Jim Pine says the first phase is to get the cable or trunk system in place, then there needs to be a satellite service for those who cannot be reached even by the trunk system. Interested companies have until November 20-th to submit proposals..and Pine expects shovel in the ground work to begin next year.
