The Health Unit responsible for Northumberland County wants more provincial funding for the inspection of small water systems.
A public health inspector told the Haliburton-Kawartha-Pine Ridge Board of Health only 60 inspections have been completed by staff since the job was transferred from the province to health units two years ago.
There are as many as eleven-hundred small water systems in the health unit area.
Funding for the program was reduced by 19-thousand dollars this year, something the health unit wants reversed so more inspections can be done.
