Police are looking for witnesses to a vicous attack near Downtown Belleville early Saturday morning. City Police say a couple was walking on Bridge Street West, just after 1 o’clock, when two men approached them from behind. The man was punched in the face and kicked in the head. Polcie say the brutal attack stopped when a man intervened…and, the “Good Samaritan” drove the couple to the hospital. Police would like to speak with that man or anyone else who witnessed the attack. The victim was stitched up and released at BGH.
